Turner is 20 months old now and she continues to amaze us with the clarity of her speech and the expanse of her vocabulary. Here are a few of the things she's saying now:
Where's Daddy?
I drank it.
I swimming. (fwimming) I kicking!
I "hab-it"? (I have it?)
I hear it! (plane)
I freezing.
I do it.
You sleep good?
Look at that!
Oh my gosh.
Oh my goodness gracious!
"Ohwwee." (While hugging a doll and patting its back.)
See me! (With hands upstretched, asking to be picked up.)
I love you. (I lub you.)
I coloring. (cudering)
War Eagle - go Auburn!
I drive it - grass. (referring to "lawnmower")
More cookies please.
I squeeze it!
Wash he hands!
Turn it on please. (Referring to the "TB" or TV.)
Wash the spider out - down! (singing Itsy Bitsy Spider)
I sweeping (fweeping)! And she calls the dustpan the "plate".
Awesome! (When she thinks something is really cool...)
Cute cute! (When she sees pictures of herself! Vanity??)
Mirror! (When she has on shoes, jewelry, makeup, clothes, etc. that she wants to see, as evidenced by the following pictures...)
She'll say "he sleeping (leeping)/he snoring (noring)". She also makes snoring noises. When she comes to wake someone up from a sleep (real or pretend) she gets right in your face, puts her mouth over your nose, and shouts "HEY!" If you don't seem to stir, she'll shout "Look at me! Wake up!"
Baseball - Go Cubs! (Wants baseball to be turned on and asks by saying, "I watch baseball?". When you ask her who she's cheering for she'll respond with "Go Cubs!")
She can say almost any food we've given her, but her favorites to name are hamburger, chicken, strawberries, oli (ravioli), cheese, meatballs, fruit, fries, chips, cookies, milk, juice, noodles, icecream, be-ba butter (peanut butter), jelly, waffles. Here is a video of her saying peanut butter and marshmallows...
She is also pretty obsessed with naming animals an can readily identify the "main animals" plus leopards, rhinos, snakes, zebras, goats, monkeys, hippos, alligators, donkeys (complete with sound effects of "hee-haw"), lizards, bees, penguins, goldfish.
She can verbally identify with about 95% accuracy a circle, triangle, square, rectangle, star, and heart. She is starting to try to count past three (she counts easily to three when she's about to sail off the side of the pool) and it usually goes something like this, "One, two, free, six, seben, nine, ten." She's not too great with her colors yet (everything is blue sometimes) but has verbally identified green, blue, orange, red, pink when asked on several occasions.
She first tried to sing her ABC's on July 2, 2009 and actually did a pretty good job. A video of that will be forthcoming!
She has just started showing interest in educational television programs and is obsessed with Sesame Street characters (which comes directly down the hereditary line since both her mommy and daddy grew up on this show). She can identify Elmo, Zoe, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Baby Bear, and Oscar. She even tries to say Snuffalupugus, which is hilarious. She asks to watch "Super writers" which is the PBS program "SuperWhy" and "Between the Lions" another PBS program. She has recently started to ask "I watch Barney?" I am not sure I can handle Barney...
A few other random things she can identify and say - sunshine, makeup, toothpaste, toothbrush, fountain, blocks, tractor, toilet paper, flush, "nasty-gross", and "careful Turner".
She is at a really fun stage now - loving to play outside, color and draw, hide from us (wanting to be pursued and found), flip on the floor with our help, play the piano, dance to music, etc. We are enjoying her every day!!

I am in the process of turning the blog into a scrapbook using blurb.com. It basically "slurps" your blog (their words, not mine) and then you choose layout for each page. It takes FOREVER....well it would be better if you did it a little at a time. I am working on one from the post we announced we were pregnant to his 6 month post. It lets you delete ones that are stupid and you don't want in your scrapbook. And I think they are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend it!
Also, loved the new york post! I hope to take John there someday. And please tell Mark, while I do not know him all that well, I am ashamed at him for the sheer fact that he had NEVER seen Lion King...are you kidding me? has he been under a rock? :)
I saw the musical Lion King in London and loved it, but I too loved the movie so that probably helped!
Granny and GrandPAW thank you for the update.
Love it...and love that girl. Wish we could spend more time with you as I think I would remember more of Porter being so small. I can't believe she's staring 1st grade so soon!!! Hold on to every minute. It flies!
