Turner really wanted to get buried in the sand...and approximately 15 minutes after she giggled her way through this experience, I read an article in a magazine on the dangers of burying kids in the sand. Oops - this was just tradition for us at the beach as kids!
Of course when Tootsie and Pop are around if we so much as hear the ice cream truck everyone goes running!
My dad showing off a little boogie boarding in the waves!
Not sure why Turner was trying to disrobe...
After we left the beach, Tootsie, Turner, and drove about 30 minutes to Pier Park, a new shopping experience in Panama City Beach. They also have revived the old Miracle Strip into a fun park and we all know Turner loves a good fair!
I rode a few things with Turner like the Ferris wheel and the merry-go-round, but made a terrible mistake of assuming I could still handle riding my favorite ride from childhood - The Scrambler. I get terribly motion sick, so I am very aware that any rides that go upside down or round and round in circles are clearly off limits. But as a kid I could ride The Scrambler without any problems. Turner said she wanted to ride so we decided to give it a go...it was 3 minutes of torture and by the end Turner was literally praying out loud for it to end! She folded those little hands and said, "Mommy, I don't even know what to say!" I said just pray for it to end! Let's just say that the next few hours weren't much fun...I am betting that people driving by the Target parking lot thought the lady squatting down in a dress getting sick was a drunk! I have learned my adult limitations for sure!
We loved the beach this year! Thank you Tootsie and Pop for such a fun week!!
