Glimpses into May - the fun of summer begins!

The first sound of the ice-cream truck in our neighborhood brought literal squeals of delight and several feet running to gather as much money as possible before the truck passed our street.

Since Mark was gone to CWE retreat o Mother's Day it was a "girls day" complete with lunch at Zoe's, pedicures, and lots of hugs from the best daughter in the world.

What kid orders soup and salad at Zoe's - and totally cleans out an adult size portion of Greek salad?

We were blessed to keep Cooper and Bramblett for a few hours one evening during CWE training week.  Turner was trying to eat watermelon while managing Bramblett's hands on the iPad and in the watermelon bowl.  It was funny to watch her try to wrangle another little one - something she's certainly not used to!

The garden is planted - the video beneath this picture made me laugh.  Bless her heart she wants to help and works so hard!

One afternoon we decided to try out a snow-making science experiment kit that  friend from school was kind enough to send to Turner.  Before too long, the majority of the street was down here and we had over 6 cups of "snow"!

Turner's friend Janie Belle had a Frozen-themed birthday party last Saturday.  Elsa and Anna showed up as a surprise to the birthday girl and they were (as expected) the highlight of the party!

About once or twice a week Turner, Anderson, and Owen determine it's time to set up a lemonade stand.  Before you come down our street to buy, it's important for you to know that most of the time they ask customers to return cups after use.  Thankfully the only buyers have been family, as we've been told at some point during our drinking that our cups were on their second (or third) use.  Usually, the three amigos drink the supply of lemonade within 4 minutes when they "don't have any customers".

We worked on our spelling before she took off down the street on her mobile "lemonade advertising scooter".

On Memorial Day, Anderson's family was kind to include Turner in burning up the sparklers they bought at the local fireworks store.  We tried to tell them that sparklers were most beautiful after dark…but it was just too tempting.  That smell is such a sensory memory for me - lots of time spent skating in my driveway with sparklers and friends.

May has been such fun and summer is just beginning!  Just this weekend they've caught a baby turtle and have created a roly poly habitat.  I can't wait to see what the next few weeks have in store!
