The first Camp War Eagle Pep Rally of the year was last night and Turner had a BLAST! It's hilarious to think of how she's acted so differently each of the years she has attended. The first year she was 7 months old and pretty much hated the noise and wanted to have her bottle in her stroller and go home. The second year she was 1 and 1/2 and she was sort of into it, sort of not...and she didn't want anything to do with Aubie.
And this year....oh, how do I even explain this....she was a complete Auburn maniac! She started dancing as soon as we got in the stadium and started shouting about how she wanted to go see Aubie (remember, she wanted nothing to do with him last year). We got there early and went into the stadium to wait for Mark. I think Turner assumed that Mark would be there waiting on her and when he wasn't there she had a complete meltdown with tears and much crying...it was pitiful. She's a Daddy's girl for sure and she sure misses him when he's not around!
I had to include this pic...when I was in school here I thought it was so amazing that around dusk each day the sky actually turned orange and blue. I guess I was sentimental, or maybe crazy. But, after all these (13) years, that sky still takes my breath away.
After I got her calmed down, she started getting in the mood as they played the band music and she couldn't keep from dancing. The funniest part is that she kept saying, "Mommy, this is the song that Bully plays!" Which makes sense when you realize we have a walking Bully dog at our house that plays the MSU band's version of their fight song...so to her the recording of the AU band playing "War Eagle" was no different than their band playing the MSU fight song! She's going to be so confused and conflicted...
And then the big surprise...we got a glimpse of Aubie welcoming freshman as they entered and Turner went completely crazy trying to get to him! He came up the ramp to visit and she RAN TO HIM and hugged him. Y'all the Aubie guys tried for 8 pep rallies last year to get her to TOUCH HIM!! It was priceless and she was completely enamored with him.
Then we really got into the spirit by shouting "Waaaaaarrrr........Eagle!"
"HEY!"
But this was the highlight of the night for this girl....
...and her Daddy. Boy does she love him.
Turner caught on quickly to "Everybody get your hands up for 2 Bits!"
We ran into our buddy Blanche and had to snap a quick photo. Blanche plays for the AU Women's Basketball team and is well over 6 feet tall. Her family has been friends of my family for many years (since she was maybe only 4 feet tall) and we are so proud she's a Lady Tiger!
Turner with her big buddies Matt and Melissa...oh how she loves these two! (The feeling is very mutual!)
We had a wonderful time at the pep rally, and on the way home I called to reassure my parents that they definitely had an Auburn girl in the making! She's just like my mom...she can't help yelling like a crazy person for those Auburn Tigers! One down, 7 more pep rallies to go! :)

Even with the marked absence of anything maroon...I love this post! My favorite pic was Turner runnng to her Daddy! So precious! Hugs all around from the Shraders! We love ya'll!
This post was awesome. You actually made me miss a CWE Pep Rally, which is amazing. We have got to get back down there to see you and Turner (and maybe Mark).
So adorable. Makes me miss my second home. Addison needs to come get some of that influence. I fear for her divided heart! :) LOL.
The pictures of her running to Mark made me tear up!! So sweet!
