My great privilege...

...is being a mother to my sweet little girl. The joy and laughter she gives me daily is indescribable. The thought of my life without her in it is unspeakable. As I told my sweet friend this week, while our road to parenthood wasn't without heartache, my Turner is a walking answer to every single prayer I prayed over her while I carried her. I get to SEE a living, breathing answer to prayer every day of my life...and the best part is that she is "immeasurably more than I could have asked or imagined."  We are so blessed.

Turner has been working on this creation with Mrs. Rhonda for a few weeks now (as evidenced by the frequent specks of blue paint on her fingernails in the afternoons). I absolutely love it!

And her Sunday School teacher (who is  38 weeks pregnant with her third child mind you) monogrammed the most precious apron for the moms in her class!  It says "Best Mom Hands Down" and of course has Turner's hands traced on zebra fabric and sewed on the front.  So cute and sweet.

Perhaps one of the funniest things happened this past Wednesday night on the phone. I called Mark's cell after I left church to see if I needed to get anything else at the store.  Normally on Wednesday nights they play outside or go for a walk while I am at church.  This night was different...  Turner was dying to speak to me, so Mark handed her the phone.  Here's how that conversation played out:
Me:  "Hey Turner!  What are you doing?"
Turner:  "I'm going home."
Me:  "Oh, are you and Daddy walking?"
Turner:  "No, I'm riding!"
Me:  "Oh, are you riding in the stroller?"
Turner:  "No, I'm riding in the car!"
Me: "Where have you been?"
Turner:  "Daddy and me went to get you a present!"  :)
Me:  (hysterically laughing at this point) "Oh, you did!?"
Turner:  "Yes, but we didn't get anything."

I am so grateful for my own mom - who fits every description of the Proverbs 31 woman we studied in church today - and the example of sacrificial, unconditional love she has lived out in my view for 30 years. One day, maybe I can be like her.

We enjoyed time with my parents and sister on Saturday and snapped a few pics while we played at the pool. Once Turner got reintroduced and re-acclimated to the water again, she's asked every single day if we can go swimming! It's going to be a fun summer! When I mention summer these days, Turner and I both celebrate.  I say, "Summer's coming and what does mommy get to do?"  She responds, "Not go to work!"  I say, "And what else?"  She responds, "You get to stay with Turner!"  Nobody's counting or anything...13 days....
