Swimming, bowling, and birthdays!

After we arrived back from the beach, we spent the rest of our Spring Break sleeping late, rearranging closets, hanging at the pool, and taking Turner bowling for the first time!  It has been a restful and laid back break from the busy life we live!

My sweet girl enjoying life at the pool!

We had a great time at Andrew's birthday party!  These two are such sweet friends and they just shout with joy when they see one another!

Mark took off work on Friday and we took Turner bowling for the first time.  For over a year she's asked us about the bowling alley when we rode by and I actually promised her I'd take her over this past Christmas break.  A promise I didn't manage to keep.  :(  So, we decided a rainy Friday during Spring Break would be the perfect day for this activity.  Of course, I thought about grabbing my camera twice before we left home and then still walked out without it!  These are cell phone pics and videos, but they are still entertaining!

This was how she started without seeing either of us bowl, obviously the most logical way for a kid to bowl!
Celebrating knocking pins over on her first try!
Her bowling happy dance part 1...
...and part 2.  This was her entertainment (and ours) while we waited, and waited...and waited for the ball to finally bump off the bumpers enough to make it to the pins at the end of the lane!

After she watched us a couple of times, she wanted to run up to the line and bowl from one side.  She wasn't quite strong enough to manage the ball that way and she double clutched it almost every time before she determined how to release it...it was pretty funny!  The video below will give you a visual!

And here's how the score shook out in the end.  Mind you, Mark and I had the benefit of the bumper rails to keep our multiple gutter balls in the lane and we both barely made over 100.  It's obvious bowling is not our sport!  But, Turner would assure you that SHE won because she had 60!  She does want to go again so she can get "an X", which is better than the "half X" she got this time.

And this picture is just one I wanted to include that a sweet friend took at church a few weeks ago while he was keeping nursery.  This picture took both me and Mark aback a little...she just looks so grown up!

Hoping for a smooth transition back into the real world in morning!  :)
