Waldrop Egg Hunt 2014

Though it was a cooler egg hunt than expected, we enjoyed visiting with friends as Turner hunted eggs at her favorite egg hunt in Auburn.  Mike and Rene's yard is full of beauty with a creek and large rocks to climb, making it a perfect venue for a 700 egg hunt!

What I love about this next picture that you can't see…she was in full out hunt mode and didn't notice this little boy.  Like me, he's so into his Smarties, he's not moving very quickly.  She stood up to run off with the egg and we called her name.  She paused and turned back to him, realizing he was there to get that specific egg.  She handed him the egg and away she went.

Last year, Mark talked her into to giving up some of her eggs with a little boy who arrived late and had no eggs to hunt.  (She got two treats for her generosity - like a trip to Shakey's pizza and Chill Yogurt sized treats.)  We hope that these teachable moments turn into a habit of kindness and compassion for others.

I just love watching these two play.
