His Kidz 2014 - The Word Connection

Turner enjoyed another year of His Kidz, which is the drama/musical group in our church's children's ministry.  They put in hard work every Sunday night this spring and their performance in early May featured a game show that highlighted the importance of internalizing God's Word.

Turner determined early that she wanted to try out for a fairly major role, and when she got to the auditions the leaders said they were quite impressed with her decisiveness about the role she wanted to try.  They also were quite surprised at her ability to read the part (in her most dramatic of voices) and she was cast as her desired role of Contestant #4: Elizabeth.

Who says there's no dancing in a Baptist church?

So right before the show, the leaders told the kids that when Jackson (far right) gave the correct answer to the question there would be some loud popping noises and confetti.  For the handful of kids who don't love loud noises, this fact was a worry they carried with them the entire show.  This picture was taken just after the noises and I just love the relief on their faces.  Check out little man on the back row…our Baptist church has dancing AND hand raising!

Certainly you wouldn't want to watch this full video (unless you are family or just really bored) but you can check out a short snippet around the 15:10 minute mark and then her longest stretch of lines that begin at the 23:50 mark.  Mark and I were special guests of the game show contestant so we had a few moments on stage as well. I think that part of Turner's motivation for trying out for the part of Elizabeth was because she wanted us to join her on stage…  :)

With this show being the day after the dance recital, we were fortunate to have all all four grandparents here to enjoy this performance as well.

And because anytime Tootsie is around we need to take family pictures...

So thankful for a church that provides such wonderful opportunities for Turner, for healthy grandparents who had safe travels to join us for the weekend, and for our sweet Turner who truly does hide God's word in her heart.
