I look back to the summer of 1999 and recognize those months as a pivotal time in my life. My time as a Camp War Eagle counselor helped me realize my personal potential and taught me lifelong lessons about working with all types of people and serving others. The experience bolstered my confidence and steered me toward college goals and dreams I didn't even know I had. The friends and memories I made during those months are lifelong treasures. And yes, my biggest treasure also came into my life as a result of those few months...Mark was an awesome boss, an amazing leader, but best of all he's a wonderful husband.
Several of my 1999 CWE buddies and I started talking about a reunion to celebrate our 15 year anniversary of serving as CWE counselors. Through many emails and texts we planned a reunion tailgate and it was SO much fun! Fun to see how our lives have changed, meet each other's children, share memories and stories from college days. It was an awesome afternoon!
My mom found my old CWE pictures and I dug out my CWE scrapbook - our kids loved seeing us looking a good bit younger and in some silly situations as college students!
Such fun to see all of our kids playing and enjoying one another!
It wouldn't be a CWE party without a '99 cow tag. :)
These people. So many memories and so much laughter.
These awesome people worked so hard to help me make this event a reality - cutting branches, carving pumpkins, hauling and filling coolers. Don't know what I'd do without Mark, Pop, and Tootsie.
