When my sister was finishing up at Auburn, my family tailgated regularly in Centennial Gardens beside Foy Union. Over the years we've moved our primary tailgate location to my backyard, but on the day of the Florida game this year we decided we'd break out all the goods and head back to tailgate on campus. Our newest family member (Uncle Matt) is a Virginia grad and though they have a rich tradition, I don't think tailgating was a regular part of their game-day regimen. We wanted to show him what it was all about!
It just so happened that this weekend was our first real cold snap, but that didn't stop my little one from heading out early with Pop and Tootsie!
They walked to McDonald's for an early morning breakfast.
I am apparently incompetent as we searched for a long sleeved Auburn shirt for Turner...and found that we didn't have a single one. Notice the short-sleeved summertime shirt below. :( You'll see later we ended up purchasing a new one by the day's end!
I don't even know what to say about this picture.
Turner told my dad she wanted to play the game she saw at the tailgate beside ours...so of course my completely anti-social father walked right up to people he'd never seen before to ask them if she could play ladder golf and corn hole!
These two goofballs cheesing for the camera, food in hand. That's what it's all about!
That would Turner's father under that blanket...
Though I am still a fan of having super easy access to bathrooms, refrigerators, air-conditioning, etc. it was quite fun to be on campus again for a fun game day experience!
