This picture of all of the CWE professional staff and their families makes me happy. It would take thousands of words to describe the amount of prayers that have gone up on behalf of the three children you see in this picture. The story of their journies into the world and into the arms of their moms and dads is miraculous in every single way. This picture leaves me speechless at the graciousness of God.
Always so excited to see her daddy...
...and sometimes more happy about the special piece of chocolate pie he brings her each week.
Meet Bramblett, the newest member of our CWE family.
For the second pep rally we brought our friend Aubrey with us as a special treat.
I can't recall if this was shortly before or after Aubrey sat in Turner's chocolate pie...
Again, this is what happens when Turner gets the camera!
The next pics are from Pep Rallies 3, 4, or 5...after a while I lose track. Photo bomb by the boy in the blue shirt courtesy of Courtney B, one of my favorite students EVER and a rising educator. So proud of him - even when he photo bombs my picture and then tells me about it 2 minutes later. :)
For pep rally 6 we invited our neighbor and friend Anderson to join us for the fun! These two are like brother and sister and you can see how much they love each other.
Mark and Bramblett being photo bombed by Bramblett's dad, John who is a devout St. Louis Cardinals fan. We are Cubs fans in our house and Mark is determined to sway Bramblett over to the Cubbies.
This picture was snapped from a good distance away by a dear friend who loved the expressions captured in this non-staged moment.
Sometimes at pep rallies I have the privilege of hearing parents talking with Mark as the leave the event. I am overwhelmed at the gratitude expressed by parents for the job that the CWE staff does and how meaningful the program is to their journey. Of course I love CWE since I served Auburn in this capacity before I started chasing my sweet husband. And the program itself IS fabulous. But I am always most proud when I see the amazing work Mark does to build character and leadership capacity in the students who serve Auburn each summer. He's an amazing man I tell you, and I'm a lucky girl.
