Is this how it's supposed to look?

Tonight was my first visit to Sips N Strokes, a local painting establishment where you re-create an original painting by artist Wendy LoVoy. This is such a fun way to spend an evening!

For the past six years, I have been a member of a ladies singing ensemble at my church - Heartsong is our name. The name was derived from Psalm 138:1 "I will praise you, O Lord, with my whole heart." A few weeks back, one of the ladies suggested we make this a Heartsong "ladies night out" since the scheduled painting tonight was a heart with musical notes going through it. Six of the seven members of our group made it tonight and we had a fabulous time!

I was quite humbled by my obvious lack of painting skills! I consider myself an artsy/creative person - and I can paint dots and stripes with the best of them. But shading? Proportionally painting? Um...not so much. :) I got bold and tried to make a khaki color and it turned purple! Oh well...we had a great time and I think my painting has a new home in my pantry.
