SNOW Fun 2010

What fun we've had playing in the snow! Tootsie and Pop had planned to arrive on Friday night, but came a day early to be sure they wouldn't miss out on the fun! During the morning on Friday (thankfully not at school mind you!) we just watched the snow fall - probably harder than I have ever seen it snow. Our yard looked like this by mid-day.
After Turner got up from her nap, we ventured out to play!Out of the blue last week, Turner started talking about making snow angels. I think perhaps someone on Dora or WonderPets made a snow angel, so all week last week Turner made "snow angels" on our carpet. She was totally excited that she could make REAL snow angels yesterday!
But her favorite activity of all, was eating the snow! Her daddy taught her that you could eat it and she couldn't get enough!
Her Daddy also taught her about shaking the trees and the "blizzard" that occurs when you do!
Then we attempted our first snowman of the day. Mom and I were totally cracked up at this snowman's cross-eyed look...we laughed so much that we didn't notice him start to fall. Pop tried to catch him, but to no avail!
"Mommy, did you see that snowman fall???"Then we tried to sled Turner down our large hill in the front yard...the snow was actually so thick the plastic top (sled) just dug in and made a path. It didn't really slide, but was fun anyway!
Swinging in snow is fun too - especially when Daddy is pelting you with snowballs every time you swing his direction.
There were snowball fights...the one between my mom and my husband were pretty hilarious.
We decided that we needed to make another snowman more toward the street, sort of a one man welcoming committee for guests. So, the rolling started again...
And this was the final result. He doesn't have facial features at this point, but those came later.
Mark and I were supposed to go to Hamilton's for dinner (since we have built-in babysitters) but we decided instead of trying to get all cleaned up, etc. we'd just go with Turner, Tootsie, Pop, and the Dunns to Shakey's Pizza instead.
Look at that form - she may be a basketball player yet!
And when we got home, this is what Mr. Snowman looked like. See the can in his right hand? It's a diet coke can, but I have a feeling that while we were out, he ran up to the Shell and purchased something other than diet coke...looks like he had a little much and can't quite right himself!

He's still hanging on this morning....but looks like the "hang-over" (no pun intended) is pretty bad! We had a complete BLAST playing in the snow!!
