Meet Matt

Two weeks ago tonight, this handsome guy proposed to my little sister atop the Empire State Building in New York City. On April 2 of next year, he will become my brother-in-law.

Meet Matt.

Matt is awesome.  He's a neurosurgeon at UAB (where they met), and we have joked for a while now that Mark finally has someone with a similar IQ level with whom he can commiserate at family gatherings.  I find it personally hilarious that they both love to do crossword puzzles - in pen.

Matt is a tremendous cook (he's Italian), and has particularly great sense of style.  He loves art and culture, and he's a Cubs fan. He has the most entertaining, dry, witty, sense of humor - one that causes Mom and me to publicly laugh at inappropriate times when he keeps a perfectly straight face. Turner doesn't really remember her BB without Matt, and he endeared himself to Turner quickly.  She rarely talks to BB when the first question out of her mouth is not, "Where's Matt?"

More than all this, Matt makes Rebekah so incredibly HAPPY.  For the first time in her life, I know that she is truly happy - comfortable in her own skin, relaxed, free to be herself with no restraint or hesitation.  He is the perfect balance for her in every way.  I am so grateful that God specifically answers our prayers, and that He brought Matt into Rebekah's life.

Congratulations BB and Matt - we couldn't be more excited for you!
