We wanted to see BB's old apartment and along the way we walked up lovely Acorn Street, which is the oldest street in Boston.
We headed over to The Granary Burying Ground where several of our nation's founding fathers are laid to rest.
Not too far down the road we found the site of the first public school in the United States.
In a creative parenting effort to not travel with our lovely Elsa balloon, we tucked her in tight in the hotel bed before we left. :) Let me take a minute here to brag on The Lenox Hotel. When we arrived, they greeted Turner with a special Lenox bear as a welcome gift. Staff members were friendly, helpful and we found the accommodations to be comfortable and clean. Mark scored big when he snagged this wonderful hotel on Priceline! I would highly recommend this as a wonderful choice in Boston.
BB picked us up and we had just enough time for one more stop - the U.S.S. Constitution. It was neat to board this massive ship and experience a tour led by members of the U.S. Navy.
I did get some recommendation from teacher friends on educational tips and resources to prep Turner with historical knowledge ahead of time. I have tons of book recommendations and you can email me directly if you want that information. I highly recommend the Liberty's Kids video series - Turner is still watching that particular show.
We were sad to leave Boston and BB&Matt, but the memories of this amazing trip will linger forever!
