Syrup Sopping 2009

Saturday morning we headed to the annual Loachapoka Syrup Sop - one of the things Mark and I excitedly look forward to as fall approaches! Tootsie and Pop met us there and brought Turner back to Auburn for the weekend so that Mark and I could head to Starkville for the MSU vs. Florida game. Here's her reaction when she saw them coming down the street... Sitting with Daddy on the tracks
All Turner wanted to do was scoot down the track like a train!
Dancing a "jig" with the bluegrass music! (Looks more like the hokey pokey...)
Turner's first real "sop"
Definition of Sop: verb (used with object)to take up (liquid) by absorption (usually followed by up): He used the bread to sop up the gravy.

Loving the sausage biscuit with real cane syrup!
Playing around with Tootsie and Pop (who let her do most anything she wants...)
Climbing to see the horses
I turned my head for about 20 seconds, and she had climbed to this level without help...I think we may be in trouble.

And at this point in the day on Saturday it was time for Mark and me to make an exit and head toward Mississippi. With Turner's recent sickness (and on Sat she still was feeling pretty bad) I had a hard time leaving her, so we left her with attention focused on the horses without making a big deal of our absence. I also, however, left them my camera to snap shots of her riding the horses....which never happened due to her fears. So I have no pictures from our trip to Starkville. We had a wonderful time, and the atmophere in the stadium was the best I have been in all year (in Auburn or Starkville). Even though they lost, we had a blast and it was a real treat to have some time alone just the two of us!

And then to top off a great weekend, we got home to a cleaned yard, new flowers planted in the yard, a cleaned house, and a happy baby. It just doesn't get any better than that! Thank you Tootsie and Pop from the bottom of our hearts - we appreciate all you do for us!
