Celebrating our BIG girl!

Tonight we made a fun late night trip to Bruster's Icecream to celebrate a major milestone for our sweet girl! Last Monday night we put together Turner's "big girl" bed.  We have been talking with her for a while now about a big girl bed and even how big girls don't need pacis when they sleep.  We didn't know if we could make these two major hurdles at once, but we figured why not relate them together and hope for the best.  We could not have been more amazed and thrilled with how she's transitioned - she hasn't gotten out of bed one time, she hasn't had her paci since Monday, and she's put herself to sleep every nap and bedtime with relatively little effort.  There have been a few little insecure moments here and there, but overall we are incredibly thankful and so proud of sweet Turner and the big girl she's becoming!

The funniest moment of the evening came as Mark and I were polishing off our treats...Turner said, "I am going to do a show.  Here's the curtain."  I tried to play along (this being the first time either of us have seen this act) and said, "Ok, open the curtain!"  She started dancing - what appeared to be a mixture of classical tap and buckdancing - and put on a show for everyone at Bruster's. Complete with a bow at the end and a closing of the curtain!  I am afraid she's got my genes for wanting to be in the spotlight!

Gotta love icecream on the face!

Turner - Mommy and Daddy are SO proud of how you handled this transition!  You are growing into such a mature, sweet, and hilarious young girl!  We love you!
