"Turner, look, there's a boat!"

It has taken me all week to get caught up from our basically two weeks of traveling, so this will be the final installment in the "pictures at the lake" series.

Mark had to show off that he finally gave in and fished primarily with Turner's Dora rod.  That rod definitely caught the most fish all weekend!

There's a story here...you see, the lake gained quite a bit of boat traffic as Saturday arrived.  Turner was absolutely fascinated with the big, fast boats that were pulling tubes and skiers.  When she'd hear one coming she'd practically shout, "Look - A BOAT!"  So, Mark decided to get out his dad's fishing boat (which was used for many years by Mark's grandfather) and pull it around in front of the pier so Turner could see it and maybe ride.  As it came around, someone said, "Look Turner - a boat!"  As she watched Mark round the corner in this little boat her quick response was "Where?"

But then she decided that riding in ANY boat looked like fun...so she went for a spin with her Daddy.

And then the big boat arrived!  Some friends down the road have a party boat and they came up to the pier and offered to take us on an afternoon boat ride.  Turner had never been on a boat before so she was quite intrigued!  That night, as we were talking through the fun events of the day she said, "I had so much fun on that boat ride.  He did a good job." :)

Then it was back to fishing...and this series of pictures, if you'll keep your eye on that lime green cork, prove that Turner was actually catching fish on her own for the most part!

After we headed in for the evening, Mark reminded me I wanted to snap some pictures of Turner in the corn across the street.  You may remember from my post last year that the soil in Louisiana is so fertile, and the plants and vegetables there get about 3 times the size that they do in Alabama.  So, everything appears to just be gigantic.  We didn't have time to change Turner out of her swimsuit, so I got a good chuckle out of the fact that I think this looks kind of like a toddler "Victoria's Secret" photo shoot?  But, I thought they were fun nonetheless!

And finally, a good shot of Turner with Granny and Grandpa.  We enjoyed our trip so very much!!
