Mark, Turner, and I left yesterday morning to travel west across two states to come and visit Granny and Grandpa in Louisiana. Before we left, we snapped a couple of pictures of Turner in front of our Asiatic Lillies in our yard. We planted these last year and they were pretty, and we figured that was that. Well, these started reappearing a couple of months back and they didn't disappoint!! They are beautiful and huge, and we didn't really even realize they'd come back like that! I don't imagine they'll be like this when we return, so I snapped a couple of pics before we left!
Turner was great on the long car ride and we actually made in in a much faster time than we anticipated! We arrived and Granny gave Turner some "mommy style blinging" high heel flip flops that she purchased for dress up play! Turner has pranced all around in these...sometimes in just her underwear. We'll have to work on that...
This is the first time since Turner has been born that we didn't travel to Louisiana with a pack-and-play! All that extra room in the back of my car - who knew?! We did purchase a blow-up mattress for Turner and y'all she LOVES this thing. We have her big-girl bed ready to assemble when we get home, but I am thinking that we can just return it and put this thing in her room. She immediately jumped in for some fun!
This morning, we headed to the garden to pick peas, squash, tomatoes, carrots, and dig potatoes. Turner had expressed to Grandpa earlier in the week that she wanted to help...so help she did! These ducks below decided to come and visit during the picking - they walked right up to us and when Mark laid out some food for them they were quite grateful!
As you can tell, Turner wasn't too sure of the ducks. "Grandpa, hold me."
About as close as she'd get...
Um....I thought my sunflowers looked pretty good. Until we pulled up in the driveway yesterday. :)
And of course, Turner got to ride the lawnmower with her Daddy. Check out that background - flatter land than you've ever seen and just covered in corn!
Then we headed out back to the lake to fish for a while. Granny and Grandpa got turner a new Dora fishing pole and it has caught more fish than all the rest today!
Her comment? "Daddy, I caught a BIG one." Already learning to tell fish tales??
And of course, this is my favorite part....the swimming!
We also took a break for a quick swing in the yard next door.
We love coming to visit Granny and Grandpa! Uncle Richard will be arriving shortly, so the whole clan will be here for a few days! Fun fun in the hot Louisiana sun!

She is just looking more and more like you! What adorable pictures!
I am missing the wonderful time we had there last summer. So sorry my JOB prevented us from making the trip this year. The garden is great as always and the sunflowers... oh my goodness!!! So proud sweet Turner has become such a great fisherman!!! The lake looks beautiful. Continue to have fun and make pictures!
