While we waited for him to arrive at the meeting place, I snapped a couple of pictures with Samford Hall in the background. You can see that Turner is in that "smiling is such a chore" stage. :)
Daddy treated Turner to a special ride in the CWE golf cart, which she was TOTALLY pumped about. To the point that when we had to ride in my car after the pep rally she tried to whine and cry that we couldn't ride the golf cart.
Due to my Panera run, I arrived at Jordan Hare about 30 min into the pep rally and about 10 min after one of my former students hit the winning walk-off homeroom in the baseball regional going on at Plainsman Park next door. Mark ducked underneath the stadium with Turner and she was all set to mow the field...
Then this guy showed up and she quickly lost interest in the tractor. You see, Mark had taken her under the stadium to find Aubie, but Aubie had already "gone home" for the night. But one of "Aubie's friends" happens to be a friend to Turner's Daddy. He graciously (ignoring our comments that it was totally unnecessary to do so) went and found Aubie and brought him back to the stadium to visit with Turner. Thank you Aubie!
Full disclosure here - Smarties were involved in the taking of the next picture. I am not above the bribe.
When we told Aubie that Turner could do a mean version of the "Stanky Leg" (thanks to our daycare provider's crazy husband and kids) they decided to have a dance off. Turner was a little more subdued than her normal hand-behind-the-head stanky leg rendition, but she was totally tickled that Aubie danced with her!
She actually shouted "War Eagle" and sang the first two stanzas of the fight song into this large megaphone.
Such a fun evening - almost three Camp War Eagle sessions down and 5 more to go! :)
